Organic Gluten Free Sprouted Bagels (Yeast Free)

This is delicious and a healthy option for gluten free (yeast free) organic bagels!  This recipe makes a 15 bagel halves.
Cheryl has not been able to find healthy organic, gluten free bagels at any grocery store.  These gluten free, yeast free bagels taste amazing, are nutritious, easy and simple to make.

Servings 15 bagel halves

Ingredients
  

Dry Organic Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup sprouted oat flour (or sprouted oats, ground)
  • cup coconut flour
  • tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • TB psyllium husk powder
  • ¼ cup flaxseeds, ground (or flaxseed meal)
  • 1 tsp Everything Blend spice
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 TB sprouted pumpkin seeds

Wet Organic Ingredients

  • 1 ⅓ cup hot water
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 TB fresh lemon juice
  • 1 TB olive oil
  • 1-2 tsp raw honey
  • 1-2 tsp coconut oil for oiling baking pan

Organic Spice & Seed Topping

  • 1-2 tsp Everything Blend spice
  • 1-2 TB sprouted pumpkin seeds

Instructions
 

Mix Bread Dough

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Brush organic coconut oil on 2 large stainless steel baking sheets.
  • Add all dry ingredients to a large bowl and stir well.
  • In a smaller bowl, whisk the eggs, lemon juice and olive oil.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir well until combined.
  • Boil the water and turn off the flame. Add honey to the hot water and stir until melted.
  • Pour hot water and honey mixture into bread mixture and stir vigorously, batter will get thick and sticky.
  • Let mixture sit for 5-10 minutes to let the psyllium husk and flaxseed meal thicken.
  • Use a ¼ cup measuring cup to make 8 dough balls on one large baking sheet and an additional 7 dough balls onto the second baking sheet. Use a spool to flatten them to be larger than the size of the bagel cutter. If you would like thicker bagels, use can use a ⅓ cup measuring cup, which will make 10-11 bagels instead.
  • Use the bagel cutter to cut the bagels with a cutout in the middle of each bagel. Using a butter knife, remove the excess dough around the edge of the bagel cutter and to remove the dough in the middle of each bagel and add the extra dough back into the bowl.

Add Everything Spice & Bake

  • Top the bagels with Everything Spice.
  • Bake for 34-40 minutes or until a toothpick or skewer comes out clean. Start checking to see if the bagels are cooked around 34 minutes.

Cool Bagels

  • Cool the bagels for 10-15 minutes, then move the bagels onto a cooling rack.

Store Bagels in Refrigerator or Freezer

  • Store the bagels in the refrigerator or freezer, unless you will be eating them right away.
  • If freezing the bagels, use parchment paper in between each layer of the bagels.
  • Thaw bagels for 10-15 minutes or toast in toaster before eating.
